The Joy (and Pain) Of Plyometrics

Hey friends and welcome back! The second post on the My Moodivation Blog is all about plyometric training. Plyometrics (also known as "Jump Training") are exercises that exert maximum force for short periods of time. Plyometrics help to increase the strength and efficiency of fast twitch muscle fibers, which are the largest and strongest muscles in our bodies. They require little equipment (medium or light weights/resistance bands) and can often be done with just body weight. Personally, my favorite part about plyometrics is the short bursts of maximum exertion with small breaks which help to increase cardio and recovery. Plus, the exercises are usually really fun including moves like box jumps, step-up hops and resisted sprints.

Below is my 7-Day Plyometric Challenge. This one is tough! Stretching and hydration are vital. Also, it is very important to control your breathing, especially during breaks because these circuits are high intensity.

Think you're mentally tough enough?
